Reims

I’d never think about visiting Reims if my friend wasn’t studying there. As a city girl I’m used to fast pace life most of the time and always looking for fresh experiences going on. But Reims on the hand was a small and quiet city with only two main streets crossing each other and you can tell by it’s arrangement as a typical Roman city that the size of the city is limited to a walkable size, making it ideal for short storlls and stays no longer than 3 days.

I was lucky enough to be there when the champagne exhibition was going on. We spent half a day on tasting champagne and firstclass snacks and ended up half drunk(just me) and singing Les Miserables on the bench of the city square.

On the last night my friend went to her boyfriend’s house for president election whereas I was left alone in her flat and tragically found out that there was no night bus to take me to catch the early morning train. After a despeate and futile search of all possible after-midnight transportation and 4.a.m outdoor walk looking for available taxis, I found blablacars (european version of uber) from a random traval bbs post and decided to give it a try. Despite the warnings from my boyfriend, a gentle oldman showed up with a manner that I can hardly reject to get on the car eventhough he wasn’t the driver shown in the app. He took me directly to the bus station in Paris within 2 hours which saved me a lot of time and walk.
